Power, the capability to direct or influence the behavior of others or the course of events. Power can be obtained in many ways such as People or even objects. We believe power is obtained through force. For example the police force. The police have weapons, that are mostly used for good, but can be used as force in an unpleasant manner. They use their weapons to help the community be a safer place. For example, when somebody is breaking the law, such as stealing, the police are most likely going to be called onto the scene to stop the criminal. Without weapons, and using force, the criminal would most likely not listen or stop on the spot. Or even during riots, when they get out of hand the police will use force, such as non-lethal gas to stop people from getting out of hand. Without that force things could get out of control very easily. A bigger example would be the military. Most countries have militaries which are powerful. Usually a country with a big military is very strong. Such as our military, we have bases all around the world which can be used to spy or keep an eye on other countries. But in this case, it would be the bases making weaponry. With a military, it keeps other countries out of your own. A good example of our military using force,
to gain power and strength, would be WWII. The U.S didn’t enter the war until after Japanese forces used unnecessary force to attack, and bomb, pearl harbor. Taking almost immediate action, the U.S became the first country to use not only one atomic bomb, but two. With the force we took to defend our country, it made us look like a more powerful country. The A-bombs used showed other countries that we had more force and weaponry then other countries, which kept countries away from attacking the U.S directly for many years. With power being able to be obtained in many ways, we believe using force is the most effective way to achieve power over anything and anyone, either it be for good or bad, force is most known for gaining power for many centuries and many to come. |
